Decorative pillows, sometimes called throw pillows, can add the finishing touches to a room makeover or breathe a new life into any room in your house. There are many styles and sizes of decorative pillows available on the market today. As with any home accent, decorative pillows have their own dos and don’ts.
The key to the plumping is that you have to set up the pillows in layers. You can't lay them down flat like you do when you‘re sleeping or you‘ll just end up with a big pile of pillows! You have to arrange them standing up on their edges and in rows.
The material used to fill the pillows can be cotton, foam, or feathers. Feather filled sofa pillows are extremely soft to touch. Unique fabric used for casing lends an exclusive look to sofa pillows.
Put the pillowcase inside out through the opening on the fourth side. Push out the corners to get them as pointy as you can. Flatten out the pillowcase and fold in the edges of the opening on the fourth side so that they line up with the parts you‘ve already sewn shut. Iron the folded-in opening flat so that it will be easier to sew closed later.
There are retail outlets that supply readymade sofa pillows. Buyers can go to these outlets and select from the wide range available with them. Sometimes interior decorators suggest designs that blend with the ambience of the room. Sofa pillows can also be matched with curtains or drapes of the room.
